Vista Bahia Beach Resort is an easy 25-minute ride from Liberia (Daniel Oduber International Airport), and despite the proximity, our hotel is situated on the shores of a sheltered, tranquil bay that forms part of the Gulf of Papgayo. Here life moves at a much slower pace. Although largely perched on a high cliff overlooking Bahia Culebra and distant volcanoes on the horizon, there is easy access to a private beach just a few minutes from your doorstep. And the wide curve of pristine sandy beaches of sleepy Playa Panama are our immediate neighbors. The resort’s 34 en-suite rooms and two private villas are anchored by a spacious reception and social center complex, the Palenque, with full restaurant, bar and an active pool club.

From here, our gests can book a wide variety of tours and adventure excursions into the surrounding tropical forests, steaming volcanoes and the deep blue Pacific.

Heading to for the first time next week for a few days getaway with friends. We've booked Vista Bahia Beach Resort, it's very close to, or a couple miles down the coast from Hilton Papagayo. Since it is not all-inclusive, I'm trying to budget for food and drinks (not heavy drinkers at all). Has anyone been to this hotel or nearby? What can we expect to spend on meals? Are there any sodas nearby or will we be relying on hotel food? We do have a kitchen so groceries is an option but only as a last resort.
