Hello all, I have a webcam which works fine on another pc (with Vista) so the HW is ok. My XP does not any more recognize the webcam, type Trust Spotlight Webcam Pro.

The support for this webcam is built-into Windows. Once the device is connected, Windows OS should install a built-in driver for it. Please follow these steps to (re)install the webcam: • Make sure your system is up to date following the instructions from the website www.windowsupdate.com.

• Unplug the webcam and restart the system. • When Windows has completely loaded, connect the product directly to the USB port without using a hub or an extension cable. • Windows should recognize the webcam and install the built-in Windows driver. • Check in the Device Manager if the product is correctly installed or if there is any error message (visible by the yellow exclamation mark) reported.

• After the device has been recognized by the system and is visible in the Device Manager, you need to select it as default device for recording and playbacking to be able to use it. • Playback (= Video): Right-click on the microphone icon >playback devices >select the device >Set Default >OK • Recording (= Microphone): Right-click on the microphone icon in the taskbar >recording devices >select the device >Set Default >OK • Make sure to check the levels tab (Right mouse-click on the device >Properties >Levels) and adjust to a setting of at least 75. • Note: when you use the webcam with a chatprogram such as Skype, you need to select the webcam as a default device in that program too.
