KSG price increase due to proposed PUMP-SHOTGUN ban! Pump-action shotguns, like many law-abiding citizens use for duck hunting and self-protection were not expected to be part of the upcoming Assault Weapon ban proposal. Kel-Tec has been made aware that the KSG is going to be one of the Pump-action shotguns included in the upcoming Congressional Assault Weapon ban bill. The KSG is Kel-Tec’s first pump shotgun and large amounts of resources were put towards its development and production. The distributor price of the KSG has been increased due to this likely ban. If the threat of a ban is removed, the price will come back down to normal levels. We are sorry for the inconvenience this will certainly cause.

First was revealed at 2011 SHOT and distributed to industry insiders for evaluation. Lack of trigger reset did,nt go over very well. I don,t think these were ever released for sale to the public. Next one was upgraded with trigger reset and redesigned slide release(lock button) I,m sure there were other upgrades/changes made. To the best of my knowledge we are now seeing 2nd? Gen versions at retailers.

They have a redesigned DFE(double feed eliminator) Which is now called Cartridge stop actuator. There appears to be other internal changes as well. I,m not sure about the indicator windows on mag tubes. Seems like some 1st and 2nd gen? Have multiple windows on top and bottom of tube. However, the example I have(serial# placing it 10,000+) has only two windows.

As my gun will be used in a climate that can only be described as 'soggy' I am very thankful for this. I can,t tell you when 1st gen stopped and 2nd? I can tell you that my example has the newer 'cartridge stop actuator' which coincides with a new 'exploded view' included with my manual which was marked 'as of fourth quarter 2012' in top right hand corner. Chad at Kel-tec told me if I send in my KSG they will add any current upgrade to it for free making the subject mute other than shipping costs as a difference between gen's. Or in my case strong inclination to do a color swap. I wish I had a tax stamp the LEO cut down version looks menacing but you loose round count in the shorter tubes. Good thing about Kel-tec is they never stray too far away meaning you can add future revisions to your KSG as they appear down the road. Down side again is the 30 or so bucks shipping cost but you can ship directly to them and also receive since its your gun and its not transfering ownership rather only going in for repairs.
