Command And Conquer Generals Zero Hour Patch 1.04 Problem
Original title: Unusual game graphics glitch. Windows places a bunch of my games into the back ground and wont let me play them. All right I discovered this glitch while playing command and conquer generals.

The game would start for about one to two seconds and the game would stop. A lot like if you hit the windows key on the keyboard the game would be placed in the background. After looking it up I found out that there were individuals who had the same problem. All of them were running Win 7 64 bit home premium. How ever its not the game.
The reason why I know this is because this isn't the only case. I have many games this happens to. It also happens to a few programs as well. After observing this occurrence for a while I figure it is due to when the game interacts with Win 7 for screen resolution. When the game first activates. I also noticed for my older games were my computer and win 7 has to adapt to an older form of resolution it happens more often.
This is the official patch version 1.04 for C&C Generals: Zero Hour. File name: GeneralsZH-104-english.exe. For Command & Conquer: Generals on the PC, a GameFAQs message board topic titled 'problem with installing patch'.
Note changing the resolution on my games to fit my comp settings doesn't remove the problem. Its just a little less likely to happen. It's getting to the point were I don't know if I want to bother with the games because putting them in seems like a gamble. And yes I tried looking for patches and updates, and yes I have reinstalled a few of my games.
Patch 1.04 for Command & Conquer: Generals Zero Hour was released in April 2005, and was the final official patch for the game. It was a minor hotfix for version 1.03. Users username Documents Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour. Patch your game to version 1.04. How to fix problems with C&C Generals and Generals Zero.

I went for method one, still happens. Yes my systems are up to date. I started with the 7 64 bit oem then upgraded to the full home version. Didn't change a thing.
About the 64 bit thing those people I said earlier were individuals I found and observed in many different forums. I just noticed that when they posted there system data that's what we all had in common. In terms of new HDD's, my computer is only a few months old, maybe close to five. Ccnp Sp Cbt Nuggets Videos there. This gives me a new thought. Maybe its my vid card and direct x.
What kind of vid card do you have bossDweebe. I also noticed that it never happens to games I place in window mode. Only games that try to enter full screen have this problem. The one that does it most often is Command and Conquer Generals zero hour for the first decade edition. The first thing I did after I got my computer together was to install my games.
